Did you know?
Egypt hosted two of the Ancient world's marvels: The Pyramid of
Cheops and the Lighthouse of Alexandria. The Pyramid in Giza stands tall to this day -
defiant to time and peoples. The lighthouse of Pharos Island on the shores of Alexandria
was a 400 foot tall tower, featuring multiple mirrors and a beacon of flame. It was
reduced to rubble and collapsed into the Mediterranean Sea in the 13Th century after a
series of earthquakes. French and Egyptian archeologists have discovered the remains of
the years old Lighthouse and efforts are in place to begin excavating it from the bottom
of the sea.
"EGYPT"
- a
destination for everyone
